There are many questions about the process of finding, acquiring, and hiring a mobile bartending service and what the difference of a mobile bar and event bar even is. In this article we break it down and give you a step by step framework of how does a mobile bar work.

What's the difference?

Here's the difference between Mobile and event Bartending...... There is none!! These are just two different terms that practically describe the same service, a bartending service for hire.

Now every business offers different types of services. Some strictly provide bartenders and require the hosts to bring all equipment, alcohol, and sometimes even tools. Others will provide just the bar itself with linen and some decorations, once again though it is up to the host to provide everything else. There are businesses though that offer packages and types of bars where they provide everything needed to run the bar.

Using First Call Bartending as an example, we provide options for open bars, themed bars, and specialty bars such as margarita, mimosa, and spiked smoothie bars. All which you can include ad ons like signature drinks, party favors, and signature drinks. Like most bartending companies, we price on a per person basis to help work into your budget.

Step 1. Get all the quotes possible

Budgeting is a huge part of planning the event, so finding the bar that gives you the biggest bang for your buck is essential. Be sure to find as many businesses as possible and give the most detailed description possible of what you're looking for from the bar to get the best quote possible.

Step 2. Check the details of the quotes

A lot of mobile bartending businesses will still give just a general quote and avoid including additional fees or excluded services. Ask for all the details of their services and ask if they are insured as well.

Step 3. Hiring

Professional businesses will have a contract pre prepared already for their services, be sure to fully read or even have an attorney read it to be sure that all liabilities, services, and insurances are defined on the contract. This is important for those what if scenarios that could end up making you liable for damages.

These contracts will typically include a defined deposit amount (normally half of the total price) and the amount paid after the service has been completed.

Step 4. Have an invoice made with specifics

The event bartending business should be the one to provide this to you, but make sure you have an invoice created that provides specific on all the items, timeline, and services you are paying for. This way if the business does not provide everything, you have the invoice to dispute being charged for it!

Step 5. Enjoy your bar

You've gotten your quote, created the type of bar you wanted, defined the specifics, and have signed all the paperwork. Now it's time to trust your work and the people you've hired for your event. Sit back and enjoy a drink, because if anyone deserves it it's you!

I hope this has been an insightful description of how does a mobile bartending service work. I encourage you to visit firstcallbar.com to get started with step one of your journey.
